About the role

The staff nurse is a professional nurse who, with minimal supervision, is responsible for providing nursing care to patients.

Responsibilities

  • Independently functioning in the Behavioral Health Staff Nurse role.
  • Teach children new emotional and behavioral skills in a fun and interactive way.
  • Work hands-on with children of all ages who are struggling with various mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, suicide, self-control, and trauma.
  • Ensure patients feel cared for and supported, helping them stay safe and learn new coping mechanisms.

Requirements

  • Current RN License in the State of Alabama.
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • National Certification preferred.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Successfully completed the Behavioral Health unit orientation process.

Skills

  • Ability to provide compassionate care to children and families dealing with mental health issues.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of child psychology and behavior management techniques.

Pay

Salary commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Full-time on the Evening Night Shift, 7p-7a, 12-Hour Shifts.
