Nurse Shift Supervisor

About the Role

The Lutheran Home is seeking a full-time Nurse Shift Supervisor to oversee nursing operations during evening and overnight hours. In this leadership role, you will provide clinical guidance and support to staff while ensuring the highest quality of resident-centered care, guided by our core values of service, excellence, dignity, fulfillment, grace, and stewardship.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper staffing for each unit, adjusting for call-ins
• Review complaints filed by staff or residents
• Assist with medication passes and treatments when needed
• Function as a clinical resource for all nursing areas
• Monitor and help defuse emotional situations involving residents, families, visitors, or staff
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and facility guidelines, policies, and procedures
• Display role model expectations related to customer service and demonstrate a sense of urgency regarding resident and staff safety
• Ensure the effective delivery of competent, compassionate, and safe care by monitoring processes and outcomes
• Provide leadership, coaching, and problem-solving support for nursing staff during assigned hours

Requirements

• Current unrestricted RN or LPN license in the State of Missouri
• Minimum of two years of nursing experience
• Long-term care and/or supervisory experience preferred
• Current CPR certification
