Nurse Scientist

The Nurse Scientist plays a key role in advancing nursing research and evidence-based practice (EBP) across the health system. They lead and mentor clinical nurses in designing, conducting, and disseminating research and QI projects, ensuring practice is guided by the strongest evidence. The role involves facilitating clinical inquiry, providing consultation on project implementation and analysis, and supporting dissemination at conferences and publications. They collaborate with the Nursing Innovation Council, review project submissions, and guide IRB processes. Key responsibilities include promoting critical inquiry, modeling professional nursing behaviors, mentoring staff, and ensuring project accountability. Qualifications include a Doctorate in Nursing, active RN licensure, and BLS certification. Minimum experience comprises two years in nursing research and clinical practice, with skills in communication, data entry, and research software (e.g., Epic, SPSS). Ideal candidates possess strong leadership, analytical skills, and a passion for advancing nursing knowledge and practice.
