About the role
The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area. The Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
Job Responsibilities
- Assess, treat, and document student illnesses and injuries occurring during the school day.
- Administer medications and medical treatments in accordance with physician orders, school policies, and state regulations.
- Monitor and manage student health conditions, including allergies, asthma, diabetes, seizures, and other chronic health concerns.
- Develop, maintain, and implement Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) as needed.
- Provide first aid and emergency care for students, staff, and visitors when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student health records.
- Monitor immunization compliance and maintain required health documentation.
- Conduct health screenings as required by state and diocesan guidelines, including vision, hearing, and other mandated screenings.
- Identify health concerns that may impact student learning and communicate appropriately with parents and school personnel.
- Promote disease prevention and infection control practices throughout the school community.
- Monitor communicable illnesses and implement appropriate health protocols.
Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification required.
- Previous pediatric, school nursing, community health, or related nursing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of child development, health assessment, and emergency response procedures.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
- Proficiency with electronic health records and basic computer applications.
- Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education.
