About the role
We are hiring for a Nurse (RN or LPN) - Dayshift position at RHA Health Services. This role involves providing holistic nursing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, promoting their overall health, independence, and quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Provide holistic nursing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)
- Observe, assess, and evaluate the health needs of the individuals we support
- Deliver health-related training to unlicensed personnel
- Educate individuals on how to monitor their own health and, when appropriate, provide medication administration training
- Administer medications and treatments, or assist individuals with self-administration
- Schedule and maintain preventative and routine medical appointments
- Conduct medication closet assessments
- Perform quality assurance checks to ensure unlicensed personnel are completing assigned health-related tasks accurately
- Collect and document health-related data
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments
- Monitor for and report abnormal findings to physicians in a timely manner
- Collaborate and communicate with physicians, pharmacies, medical suppliers, and the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT)
- Advocate for individuals and assist in developing community supports to promote optimal health and independence
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited License Practical Nursing (LPN) OR Registered Nurse (RN) program
- Active, unrestricted nursing license
- Strong communication skills with interdisciplinary team members, individuals served, and their families
- Ability to work independently, stay organized, and effectively prioritize tasks
- Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification
