About the role
The Registered Nurse directs, coordinates, and controls nursing activities for assigned staff under the supervision of the Supervisor. They assist in evaluating assigned staff and completing assigned projects. They provide care for patients using the Nursing Process, appropriate to their age and developmental level.
Responsibilities
- Maintains nursing schedules
- Orients new employees
- Applies hospital and Florida Nurse Practice Act guidelines in patient care
- Familiarizes themselves with patient care equipment
- Ensures compliance with ACLS, PALS, and NRP requirements
- Completes STABLE training and renewal as required
Requirements
- Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups
- Required Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing
- New hires effective June 14, 2017, require BSN within three years of hire or transfer
- Conditions apply for employees hired before August 1, 2013
- Current employees must have AWHONN FHM Intermediate or Advanced by July 1, 2019
- New hires and transfers must have AWHONN FHM Intermediate or Advanced within one year of hire or transfer
- Effective July 1, 2018, all current employees must have ACLS by July 1, 2019
- New hires and transfers must have ACLS within six months of hire or transfer
- Effective July 1, 2018, all current employees must have STABLE by July 1, 2019
- New hires and transfers must have STABLE within six months of hire or transfer
Qualifications
