About the role

The Registered Nurse directs, coordinates, and controls nursing activities, assists in evaluations, and provides care for patients using the Nursing Process. Responsibilities include maintaining schedules, orienting new employees, and ensuring compliance with hospital and state guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital and Florida Nurse Practice Act guidelines in providing patient care.
• Familiar with patient care equipment.
• Maintains nursing schedules.
• Orients new employees.
• Ensures compliance with state and hospital guidelines.

Requirements

• Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups.
• Required Education: Associate's Degree.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• New hires effective June 14, 2017, must have a BSN degree from an accredited school of nursing within three (3) years of hire or transfer into the position.
• New hires or transfers into the position between August 1, 2013 and June 13, 2017 must abide with the conditions in their offer letter and the verbiage in the job description signed upon hire or transfer into the position.
• Current employees who were hired or transferred into the position prior to August 1, 2013 will be grandfathered.
• Effective 07/01/2018, all current employees are required to have AWHONN FHM Intermediate or Advanced by 07/01/2019.
• New hires and transfers are required to have AWHONN FHM Intermediate or Advanced within one (1) year of hire or transfer if no previous training.

Qualifications

• Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups.
• Required Education: Associate's Degree.
• Required Licensure/Certifications: Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Florida, BLS from the American Heart Association, ACLS required at hire for Code Blue Team, ACLS required within 6 months of hire or transfer for certain positions, PALS required within 6 months of hire or transfer for certain positions, NRP required within 6 months of hire or transfer for certain positions, STABLE-sugar, temp, airway, BP, lab work, emotional support requirement.
