Responsibilities

  • Complete health and physical development assessments of all children enrolled in services.
  • Maintain a comprehensive health services program that tracks each child’s progress and promotes positive health behaviors.
  • Support parents in creating a medical home that involves current immunizations, annual physical and dental examinations, and ongoing primary and preventive care.
  • Maintain health records.
  • Provide linkages to medical and dental services as well as assistance in obtaining health insurance.
  • Screens children’s health and eyesight when necessary.
  • Chair the health advisory committee.
  • Provide support to the center staff regarding medical emergencies and screening children’s immediate medical needs.

Qualifications

  • Nurse (LPN) with training and experience in public health, health education, maternal and child health, and health administration.
