***Nurse Residency Program: Accepting New Graduate Nurses

About the role

Provides professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Monitors patient vital signs and reports changes to healthcare providers.
• Assesses patient needs and implements appropriate care plans.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Documents patient care activities accurately and timely.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program.
• For new hires after 2012, Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) is required within specified timeframe as outlined in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045).
• Basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.

Qualifications

• BLS: Basic Life Support/CPR FL RN: FL Registered Nurse License

• Strong organizational and time management skills.
