About the Role

Provides direct patient care in an area designated as a specialty unit in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel.
• May precept student nurses and new hires.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including disposition, referral, spiritual and psychosocial support needs.
• Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
• Monitors, documents, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and family; provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

Requirements

• Accredited Program: Nursing (Required)
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross (multiple accepted formats listed in posting)
• Registered Nurse Compact License or Registered Nurse License from the State of Florida

Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Qualifications

Must be a new graduate with less than six (6) months as an Acute Care Registered Nurse or less than twelve (12) months as a Non-Acute Care Registered Nurse.

• Nurse Residency Program: Requires graduation from an accredited nursing program within the last twelve (12) months or no more than twelve (12) months of Non-Acute Care RN experience or less than 6 months of Acute Care RN experience.
• RN Fellowship Refresh to Acute Care Track: Requires ineligibility for Nurse Residency Program, including graduation from an accredited nursing program over twelve (12) months before hire or a three (3) year period of non-practicing acute care experience.
