About the role

Responsibilities
- Directs daily activities of adolescent males in programming using acceptable behavioral management principles.
- Evaluates medical needs and works with a multidisciplinary team for recovery program physical health facets.
- Affirms changes in patient status and reports physical/mental status information to relevant personnel.
- Develops and updates the healthcare portion of the treatment plan based on patient progress.
- Ensures patient safety, including reporting incidents and medication errors.
- Adapts to schedule changes and assumes responsibilities not outlined in job description.
- Maintains the self-administration program.
- Updates physicians and interdisciplinary team on patient medical issues with proper documentation.
- Protects patient privacy and rights.
- Communicates patient status and care accurately during shift reports.
- Evaluates patient responses and reactions to medications and treatments.
- Recommends and revises nursing interventions based on patient progress or significant condition changes.
- Provides patient care as part of the interdisciplinary team.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings and in-services.
- Attends professional seminars and provides evidence of continuing education.
- Orients new employees, program interns, and volunteers.
- Allocates resources effectively, such as time, personnel, and supplies.
- Participates in quality improvement processes.
- Follows up on medical/psychiatric referrals.
- Participates in infection control programs.
- Adheres to confidentiality requirements.
- Attends mandatory in-services.
- Knowledgeable about procedures and actions to minimize, eliminate, and report risks.
- Supports and promotes the Sanctuary Model and its commitments.
Requirements
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Colorado.
- Previous experience in mental health or chemical dependency fields, or equivalent education/academic preparation required.
- Must have experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Current Colorado Drivers License.
