Nurse Practitioner - Urgent Care (Per Diem)

About the Role

Provides clinical medicine services and applicable administrative services to F.F. Thompson Hospital Urgent Care patients. Delivers consistent, high-quality care aligned with accepted national and community standards. Collaborates with office staff to develop and perform efficient office practices, fostering a cohesive Thompson identity. Ensures regulatory compliance, provides patient management, and aligns practice goals with health system objectives. Acts in the best interest of patients while assisting the health system in meeting strategic goals.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient data and interpret information to identify age-specific needs and provide appropriate care.
• Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan to ensure age-appropriate care.
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with office staff, providers, and hospital leaders.
• Apply recognized best practices in patient care within the department.
• Maintain current knowledge of regulatory requirements and implement necessary programs for compliance.
• Exhibit consistent excellence in provider-patient and provider-staff communications.
• Demonstrate leadership skills and professional behavior at all times.
• Protect confidential and sensitive information.
• Accept feedback from associates, patients, and families.
• Embody the CARES values in all interactions.
• Generate legible, comprehensive, and timely patient care records (within 1 business day of service) for clinical, regulatory, and billing purposes.
• Ensure all professional licenses, registrations, liability insurance, education, renewal requirements, and certifications remain current and compliant for employment.

Requirements

• Active NYS certification/registration as a Nurse Practitioner.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS recommended.
• DEA license required.
• Able to obtain appropriate F.F. Thompson Hospital privileges.
• Graduation from an approved Nurse Practitioner program.
• Meets continuing education requirements of the applicable discipline board.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred, particularly in urgent care or emergency medicine.
• Previous experience in primary care medicine preferred.

Schedule

Full-time day/evening shifts across three locations: Canandaigua, Newark, and Farmington.

Pay

Pay range: $85/hour. Starting pay based on experience.
