Nurse Practitioner - Urgent Care

About the role

The nurse practitioner provides patient services through evaluations, assessments, and treatments within the medical office setting, adhering to state licensure laws under the supervision of the medical director.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient evaluations, assessments, and treatments as permitted by state licensure laws
• Works closely with clinic staff, hospital departments, and community agencies
• Communicates effectively with medical and hospital staff and various populations in clinics and public screening events
• Maintains confidentiality and follows clinical standards
• Deals tactfully and effectively with patients, family members, other employees, and physicians

Requirements

• Master's Degree from a recognized program for Nurse Practitioner training (MSN)
• Georgia Registered Nurse License or Multistate Nursing License
• Georgia Nurse Practitioner License Healthcare Provider (CPR)
• Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in Georgia
• Able to communicate effectively with medical and hospital staff and various populations
• Prior experience in a similar specialty is preferred

Qualifications

• Cognitive ability to understand patient medical records, physician orders, and medical orders to be communicated to patients, hospitals, or other physicians
• Prior experience in a like specialty preferred
• Additional certifications may be required for some specialties (e.g. ACLS, PALS)
