About the role

We’re reimagining how seniors receive compassionate, comprehensive psychiatric care. As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) at Curana Health, you’ll provide high-quality mental health support across Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF), Long-Term Care (LTC), Assisted Living (AL), and Independent Living (IL) communities. You’ll work alongside a collaborative, multidisciplinary care team to deliver personalized psychiatric services, ensuring continuity of care across the post-acute and long-term care continuum.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient rounds and manage psychiatric care within SNF, LTC, AL, and IL settings.
  • Partner with attending physicians, consulting specialists, referral sources, and facility staff to ensure comprehensive, coordinated care.
  • Assess and manage the mental health needs of residents, perform physical exams, and gather complete medical histories.
  • Order and interpret lab and diagnostic tests, make preliminary diagnoses, and develop effective therapeutic care plans for mental and physical health.
  • Prescribe and administer medications and treatments; provide injections as necessary.
  • Educate patients and families on medications, care plans, and preventive mental health practices.
  • Collaborate with physicians and facility teams to address acute psychiatric and medical needs promptly and effectively.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and ANCC certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
  • Active DEA license.
  • BLS and ACLS certification.
  • Current Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice.
  • This role requires travel to and from assigned facilities. A valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and an acceptable driving record may be required in the future with 30 days’ notice. Periodic motor vehicle record (MVR) checks may be conducted.
