Nurse Practitioner - Primary Care (No call / $104,000 for 6 months)

A correctional healthcare facility in Virginia is seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens assignment, available immediately for 3–6 months. This role is ideal for an NP who wants steady weekday hours, zero call coverage, and the opportunity to make a real impact with an underserved patient population. The position covers comprehensive family medicine services for an adult population in a secure, structured clinical setting with a dedicated support team.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary care services Monday–Friday, 8 AM–4:30 PM
• Manage a caseload of 18–20 patients per day
• Conduct patient evaluations and manage chronic conditions
• Treat acute illnesses and maintain accurate documentation (Naphcare EMR)
• Collaborate with RNs and LPNs to support optimal patient outcomes

Requirements

• Active Virginia APRN license
• FNP certification preferred
• 1–3 years of clinical experience
• Comfortable working in a structured, secure clinical environment
• Board certification required

Pay

$50–$100/hour (up to $104,000 for 6 months)

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 8 AM–4:30 PM (no call coverage required)
