Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant-Urgent Care Night Shift

About the role

VitalCore Health Strategies (VCHS) is seeking a Full Time Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant at Urgent Care in Duane Waters Health Center in Jackson, Michigan.

Responsibilities

• Responds to and initiates care for medical emergencies throughout the facility.
• Identifies patient health problems and prescribes treatment under the direction of a physician.
• Implements medical care utilizing evidence-based practice guidelines.
• Provides education to inmate/patient, healthcare staff, and correctional staff.
• Documents all healthcare contacts.
• Adheres to safety and security policies and participates in disaster drills.
• Fulfills security regulations for keys, sharps, and controlled medications.
• Delegates to and supervises other team members as appropriate.
• Adheres to Universal Precautions and other appropriate infection control practices.
• Attends training and meetings as required.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited college/university NP / PA program.
• Must possess current licenses or certifications in the state of employment.
• Experience in Correctional desired but not required.
• Maintains required annual licensure and credentialing requirements for physician assistants / Nurse Practitioner in the healthcare unit.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work every other weekend and half the holidays.
• 7 PM - 7 AM, 36 hours/week.
