Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant - Orthopedic Trauma - FT - Boise, ID
About the Role
Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG), a 650+ provider multispecialty group practice, seeks a certified advanced practice provider (PA-C or NP-C) to manage orthopedic trauma patients in collaboration with orthopedic trauma surgeon(s). The position includes direct clinical management through utilization of approved protocols and procedures as well as appropriate medical consultation.
The APP will work closely with the Orthopedic Trauma Medical Director and other members of the trauma service to evaluate new trauma patients in the Emergency Room, provide direction to hospital personnel regarding patient management issues, and manage inpatient orthopedic fracture patients. This role also involves working in the operating room and outpatient clinic settings.
The qualified candidate will demonstrate comprehensive assessment skills, expert clinical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to a multidisciplinary team approach to patient care.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate new trauma patients in the Emergency Room.
- Provide direction to hospital personnel regarding patient management issues.
- Manage inpatient orthopedic fracture patients.
- Work in the operating room and outpatient clinic settings.
- Collaborate with orthopedic trauma surgeons and the trauma service team.
Requirements
- Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (NP-C) medical license in Idaho.
- Valid controlled substance registration with both the Idaho Board of Pharmacy and the DEA.
- Past surgical and/or critical care experience in a hospital-based setting.
