Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant-Office-Spine & Neuro Clinic-Full Time

About the role

The role requires a physician assistant (PA) or nurse practitioner (NP) to co-manage patients under the supervision of neurosurgical physicians within the department of Spine and Neuro at Huntsville Hospital. The candidate must have completed a Nurse Practitioner Master's of Science in Nursing or hold a current Physician Assistant license.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat patients under the guidance of neurosurgical physicians
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Provide clinical services in an inpatient, acute care neurosurgical setting
• Work in a team environment to deliver high-quality patient care
• Interact with patients and their families to build trust and facilitate effective communication

Requirements

• Completion of Nurse Practitioner Master's of Science in Nursing or current Physician Assistant license
• Successful completion of a National Certification Exam for NP or current registration through the Alabama board of Medical Examiners for PA
• Approval by the Huntsville Hospital Credentialing Board
• BLS certification within the orientation period
• At least one (1) year of work experience as a licensed NP/PA preferred
• Inpatient, acute care neurosurgical or surgical experience preferred
