About the Role

Carondelet Medical Group is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Neurology team at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tucson, AZ. This role offers the opportunity to be an integral part of a busy and growing neurology practice, supporting timely access to care for patients with a wide range of neurological conditions. The position is ideal for an NP or PA who enjoys specialty care, collaboration with physicians, and managing complex neurological patients in a clinic-based setting.

  • Outpatient-focused role supporting a high-demand specialty practice
  • Monday – Friday schedule along normal business hours
  • Develops and implements treatment plans for neurological conditions
  • Collaborative, team-based environment with neurologists and clinical staff

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to and supports the mission, purpose, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of Tenet Physician Resources.
  • Adheres to the Tenet HIPAA Compliance Plan and the Privacy Standards Confidentiality Agreement.
  • Demonstrates support for the Tenet Corporate Compliance Program by being knowledgeable of compliance responsibilities as expressed in the Code of Conduct; adhering to federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and corporate policies and procedures; and reporting compliance issues/concerns in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Obtains and records client's health history; performs comprehensive physical assessment (including biological, social, and psychological needs) as part of a total physical examination.
  • Diagnoses, treats, and plans appropriate health care for clients as appropriate for specialty; refers clients to physicians and/or outside agencies as required.
  • Ensures completion of all required documentation of patient care activities in accordance with TPR policy.
  • Fulfills all duties assigned by the physician.
  • Reports to the attending physician of any injuries or adverse reactions during or after treatment.
  • Participates in patient review conferences and staffing.
  • Assists the physician with Utilization Review, Quality Assurance, Program Evaluation, Infection Control, and Safety Committee activities.
  • Adheres to the established policies and procedures of Tenet Physician Resources.
  • Orders and interprets the results of laboratory tests as part of the physical examination and health management.
  • Performs and oversees testing and other appropriate procedures.
  • Conducts health teaching and counseling during the physical exam, enabling the client to make informed choices about health and treatment options.
  • Provides consultative direction as needed for nursing, laboratory, and clinic assistant staff.
  • Orders medications.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education

  • Required: Master's Prepared Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner

Certifications

  • Must be currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in the state of practice, or policy.
  • RNP License.
  • Additional certification(s) per governing board and in accordance with the facility Medical Staff Bylaws.

Schedule

  • Monday – Friday, normal business hours
