About the role
As an APP (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant), you will function as an integral part of the healthcare team. You will serve various roles, including working directly alongside faculty and staff, providing care to the entire spectrum of patient acuity levels, working semi-autonomously, and serving as a provider to initiate appropriate care, including laboratory studies and/or imaging as indicated, at the front end of a patient's visit.
This is an outpatient opportunity with our Neurology Clinic.
Responsibilities
- Work directly alongside faculty and staff in a healthcare team environment.
- Provide care across the entire spectrum of patient acuity levels.
- Operate semi-autonomously to initiate appropriate care for patients.
- Order and interpret laboratory studies and/or imaging as indicated.
Requirements
Nurse Practitioner
- Master's Degree in Nursing.
- Certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body.
- Currently licensed in the state of Georgia and/or South Carolina (depending on job location) as an advanced practice nurse by the State's Board of Nursing.
- Advanced Certification in the specialized area if required.
- Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Must be fully credentialed by AUHS Credentialing Office to work.
Physician Assistant
- Graduated from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Certified as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Currently licensed in the state of Georgia and/or South Carolina (depending on job location) to practice medicine through the State's Composite Medical Board.
- Must maintain status as a certified PA, including completion of all requirements for continuing medical education and re-certification.
- Advanced Certification in the specialized area if required.
- Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Must be fully credentialed by AUHS Credentialing Office.
Schedule
Day shift, Monday through Friday. No weekends, holidays, or call.
