Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant - Interventional Radiology

Coordinates and delivers primary care

• Working within approved scope of practice
• Obtaining complete medical history and physical data on patients
• Interpreting and integrating data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as needed
• Performing a complete physical exam and recording findings
• Collaborating with physicians in managing the medical needs of patients
• Ordering appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures
• Educating and advising patients regarding health and illness prevention
• Recommending community resources to meet patient and family needs
• Supports patient access and care coordination through triage, follow-up, and management of urgent situations

Supports BMG Programs

• Participates in health education
• Maintains related records and statistical data and prepares statistical reports as needed
• Participates in interdisciplinary care conferences and assists with referrals and dissemination of information to appropriate vendors
• Assists in the development and coordination of ongoing education and follow-up programs designed to measure client outcomes

Organizational Responsibilities

• Attends and participates in department meetings and is accountable for all information shared
• Completes mandatory education, annual competencies and department specific education within established timeframes
• Completes annual employee health requirements within established timeframes
• Maintains license/certification, registration in good standing throughout the fiscal year
• Direct patient care providers are required to maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other certifications as required by position/department
• Consistently utilizes appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques to protect patients and self
• Adheres to regulatory agency requirements, survey process and compliance
• Complies with established organization and department policies
• Available to work overtime in addition to working additional or other shifts and schedules when required

Education/Licensure/Certification

• Credential(s): Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner masters program
• Current, valid state licensure and appropriate certification (NCCPA or ANCC/AANP) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
• Verified by local Credentialing Office
• BLS obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date if required
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications if required
