About the role

The Infusion Center is seeking an Experienced Advanced Practice Provider to join the Infusion Center team at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital. The Infusion APP will work within our adult Infusion Center to serve as an infusion first responder, promote infusion service access and efficiency and may provide urgent care/symptom management in close collaboration with longitudinal medicine providers.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct care, counseling, and education to a designated patient population in ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural settings.
  • Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
  • Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
  • Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Consistently provides high-quality and timely documentation, including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.

Requirements

  • Massachusetts Master's Degree Nursing or Massachusetts Master's Degree Physician Assistant required.
  • Massachusetts Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Massachusetts Physician Assistant required.
  • 2 years of licensed APP experience required, 5 yrs clinical APP experience in an acute care setting preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience as a responding clinician in an acute care setting preferred.
  • Experience in medical or oncology focused infusion preferred.

  • Skilled in taking medical histories to assess medical condition & interpret findings.
  • Ability to maintain quality control standards.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.

Skills and Abilities
