About the role
The Nurse Practitioner provides advanced nursing care in the pre-op clinic to in-patients pre-scheduled for surgeries. Responsibilities include assessing patient health status, performing physical exams, identifying significant health risks, and ordering treatments and diagnostic tests under Standardized Protocols Procedures. The role involves communicating clinical findings to physicians and collaborating to develop patient treatment and education plans.

Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Nursing (required; exception for NPs qualified or certified in California or any other state prior to January 1, 2008)
- Current California NP license and certification as a nurse practitioner by a recognized national certifying body (ANCC or AANP)
- Furnishing license issued by the Board of Registered Nursing
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification
- Eligibility to be an approved Medicare Provider
- Demonstrated interpersonal relations, critical thinking skills, and ability to work independently
Experience
- Two years of experience as a nurse practitioner preferred
- Experience with pre-op assessment preferred
Schedule
- Monday through Friday (day shift)
- No weekends or holidays
- Per diem agreement (minimum of two shifts per pay period)
Pay
- Pay range: $100.73 to $134.72 per hour (based on years of applicable experience)
- Evening shift differential: $5.41 per hour
- Night shift differential: $8.11 per hour
