Nurse Practitioner - Palliative care

About the role

Provide palliative care and hospice services within an inpatient setting at Christian Hospital in St. Louis. This position offers a Monday–Friday, 9 am–5 pm schedule with no weekends or holidays, supporting strong work–life balance. BJC Home Care is the region’s largest home care network, serving more than 25 counties across Missouri and Illinois with a full range of skilled nursing, hospice, rehabilitation, infusion therapy, respiratory care, and specialty programs.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday, 9:00 am–5:00 pm
• No weekends
• No holidays

Responsibilities

• Participates in professional development
• Manages the health care of patient populations with compassion through advanced health assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and evaluation in a collaborative practice agreement with a physician
• Prescriptive responsibilities are reviewed by collaborative physician
• Coordinates the care of patient populations to ensure promotion of health and wellness through education of patients and families, coordination of services, and placing referrals
• Assesses development needs of staff and develops and delivers appropriate educational programs to meet staff needs
• Develops treatment plans and treats patients with acute problems including illnesses and minor injuries following a predetermined protocol in a collaborative practice agreement with a physician

Requirements

Minimum qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• No supervisor experience required
• Valid Driver’s License
• Nurse Practitioner license
• RN license

Preferred qualifications

• Doctorate in Nursing
• 2–5 years of experience
• Palliative care experience
