Key Responsibilities
- Conduct independent follow-up visits for patients with chronic pain conditions
- Participate in new patient consultations in collaboration with supervising physicians
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in coordination with the care team
- Prescribe and manage medications, including controlled substances, in compliance with CDC and state guidelines
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Monitor patient progress, treatment effectiveness, and adjust care plans as needed
- Provide patient education on pain management strategies, medication safety, and lifestyle modifications
- Collaborate closely with interventional pain physicians
- Career Development
- Coordinate care with social workers to support patients’ psychosocial and behavioral health needs
Qualifications
- Successful completion of accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Master's Degree required.
- Current license issued by the State of Maine or eligible for licensure.
- Certification of Physician Associate/Physician Assistants (NCCPA) required for PA's.
- Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner (e.g., FNP, AGNP).
- Experience in pain management, primary care, or related field preferred.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary or integrated care settings.
- Prior experience in pain management, musculoskeletal care, primary care, or related field preferred.
