Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - (PRN, as needed)

About the role

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant role is PRN, day shift position, 6 AM - 2:30 PM (as needed). This is not a full-time job with guaranteed hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior clinical care and customer service to Medcor’s client and employees
• Treat injuries and illnesses following Evidence Based Medicine standards
• Perform pre-placement exams
• Conduct DOT examinations
• Administer return to work evaluations for non-work and work-related injuries
• Collaborate with on-site medical staff and Medcor Clinical Affairs and Operations
• Work closely with client professionals in health, safety, and environmental practices
• Collaborate with client human resources and benefits professionals on clinical issues
• Support client’s wellness and preventative programs
• Document and manage information using state-of-the-art EMR and other tools
• Coach patients regarding healthy behaviors

Requirements

• A valid unrestricted license
• Current DEA & BLS certifications
• DOT certification (obtainable within 6 months of hire)
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with EMR software
• A positive and outgoing personality, and be a collaborative team player
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Willingness to go above and beyond for excellent customer service
• Comfortable working in an on-site clinic environment
• Previous work-site clinic experience (plus)

• Experience in occupational health and acute/episodic care
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills
