About the role
The position involves providing comprehensive health assessments, initiating and ordering therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, and prescribing medication regimens. Responsibilities
- Assesses the health status of patients/families
- Initiates and orders selected therapeutic and diagnostic procedures
- Counsels in health promotion, maintenance, and disease prevention
- Maintains patient confidentiality
- Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings
- Initiates referrals to specialty services
- Develops and documents the plan of care
- Completes Focused Professional Practice Proctoring Evaluations (FPPE)
Requirements
- At least two years of nursing experience in the specialty area
- Nurse Practitioner experience of at least one year preferred
- Licensure: New York State License as a Registered Nurse
- State Certification: Certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the New York State Department of Education
- Master's degree in a related field
- Previous progressive experience relevant to the area of clinical practice
