Nurse Practitioner (Non-Institutional)

About the role

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will provide advanced nursing care in an outpatient or community-based setting in South Carolina. This role involves preventive healthcare, evaluation, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions under written protocols and practice agreements with collaborating physicians.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced nursing care in an outpatient or community-based setting
• Evaluate and treat patients, prescribe medications, and provide health education
• Coordinate referrals and support public health initiatives
• Supervise healthcare staff and mentor student nurse practitioners
• Support quality improvement initiatives

Requirements

• Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing at the Master’s or Doctoral level in a program acceptable to the South Carolina Board of Nursing
• Licensure: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) by the South Carolina Board of Nursing. Active RN license issued by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a Compact License
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

• Experience in outpatient or community-based settings preferred
• Experience in supervising healthcare staff and mentoring students
• Experience in supporting public health initiatives
• Experience in quality improvement initiatives
