Nurse Practitioner No Sleepless Nights Program
Major Responsibilities And/or Essential Functions
- Works with surgeons, radiologists, radiation oncologists and physicians to provide quality care to patients with health concerns.
- If available, reviews patient’s previous health history in HealthConnect/EPIC.
- Obtains, compiles, and records patient medical data, including health history, progress notes and results of physical examination in HealthConnect.
- Orders and/or administers diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests.
- Interprets diagnostic test results for deviations from normal.
- Prescribes therapy or orders medical treatments or diagnostic studies in any health care setting in accordance with Rule 360-5-.07(8).
- The NP may perform and recommend/supervise the performance of medical treatments and procedures by other direct patient care providers.
- Makes tentative diagnoses and decisions about management and treatment of patients and confirms with supervising physician.
- Develops and performs comprehensive treatment plans after gathering information on all new patients or established patients, which may include a complete medical history and physical examination, and medical record review.
- Updates or revises existing treatment plan based on new information if appropriate.
- Ensures a consistent level of quality of care for all members accessing the program services.
- Instructs, counsels and educates patients about prescribed medications and therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
- Educates patients concerning what can be expected prior to, during and after diagnostic and treatment procedures.
- Evaluates the patient’s physical and emotional recovery after treatment, utilizing appropriate resources as needed.
- Buils effective working relationships with physicians, hospital staff, vendors, and other departments within TSMPG and the health plan.
- Willingness to travel between medical offices as required for the job.
Qualifications
- Holds a valid Georgia license as a Certified Nurse Practitioner.
- Has one-year minimum experience as a nurse practitioner in an acute clinical setting.
- Has experience facilitating performance improvement projects.
- Has experience planning, coordinating and implementing programs.
Preferred Experience And Requirements
- Three years of Nurse Practitioner experience with at least one year of experience in a primary care clinic setting.
- Qualified to care for Medicare beneficiaries and Medicaid recipients under Federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) qualifications.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations.
- Computer skills.

About the Role
The Southeast Permanente Medical Group/ Kaiser Permanente currently has an opening for a No Sleepless Nights NP position working 30 hours per week. The person in this role will be responsible for day to day operational management of the No Sleepless Nights Program, as well as, ongoing program development and enhancements to effectively provide health services to the members of the KP Georgia region. He or she will collaborate with other regional departments to ensure effective coordination of care and serve as KP GA liaison to national Kaiser Permanente programs to establish and maintain high quality health services.
