About the role

The Nurse Practitioner at Saint Thomas Hospital for Specialty Surgery has the responsibility to practice medicine within the scope of licensure, training, and credentialing according to the current standards of care, Medicare guidelines, Joint Commission standards, state law, and quality criteria adopted by the hospital.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program with a C.N.P. Degree
• Current License as an N.P. in the State of Tennessee
• BLS, ACLS Required
• Orthopedic or Neurosurgeon required
• Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet needs of patients and unit
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written
• Broad understanding of the needs of the surgical patient
• Flexible, reliable, productive, patient oriented, self-motivated
• Remains calm and functions as a team leader during times of stress and crisis situations
