About the Role
As the Lead Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP), you will manage the NNP schedule and clinical students, address day-to-day issues for other NNPs, schedule and lead NNP meetings (monthly or every other month), conduct annual evaluations for NNPs, and maintain regular communications with the Medical Director/Division Chief.
You will provide total patient management for neonatal patients in collaboration with and under the direction of a physician by assessing, diagnosing, and treating acute and chronic health problems. This includes following established neonatal standards, procedures, and protocols, as well as giving patient care directions to nursing and other staff. You will adjust nursing care processes to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
You will have knowledge of coding and billing parameters governing Nurse Practitioner care within Tennessee and as related to individual carriers. You will ensure documentation is completed in accordance with institutional guidelines, maintain patient confidentiality, and comply with HIPAA and other compliance standards. You will also adhere to the Code of Conduct and established policies, including those related to compliance, quality, and safety, while acting in accordance with UT Medical Group’s mission.

- Follow neonatal standards, procedures, and protocols
- Direct nursing and other staff in patient care
- Adjust nursing care processes to optimize patient outcomes
- Ensure compliance with coding and billing parameters for Nurse Practitioners in Tennessee
- Complete documentation in accordance with institutional guidelines
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and other standards

Requirements
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- MSN degree and certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (must include certification and prescriptive authority)
- State of Tennessee licensure (Required)
- 4 years’ experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a Level 3 or above neonatal unit (Preferred)
