Nurse Practitioner II, Surgery

About the role

The position of Nurse Practitioner II in the Department of Surgery, requires a highly competent and independent yet team-oriented individual who will be immersed in the management and coordination of all inpatient care for the Department of Surgery, Division of Emergency General Surgery.

Responsibilities

• Assessing health needs
• Planning and evaluating care of all patients on the emergency general surgery service which will include patients in the surgical intensive care unit, step down unit, telemetry unit and medical surgical units
• Working closely with residents, fellows and attending surgeons
• Working closely with residents, fellows and attending surgeons
• Coordinating care among team members, including, social work, case management, therapy and other medical and surgical specialties
• Participating in the comprehensive care of patients in the ambulatory or inpatient settings and providing multi-disciplinary care coordination, treatment, education, monitoring, and communication with patients and referring physicians
• Providing patient care in age groups based on educational preparation and at all Health licensed settings and affiliates
