About the role

The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska is a federally recognized Tribe offering a wide range of health, social, educational, and cultural services within its Service Delivery Area. This position provides primary care services across the lifespan, including assessments, diagnoses, and treatments.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses patient status through interviews and physical examinations.
  • Orders and performs diagnostic tests and screenings.
  • Discriminates between normal and abnormal findings to identify early signs of serious health issues.
  • Works independently and collaboratively with the care team to manage patient care.
  • Provides emergency services and crisis intervention.
  • Evaluates and modifies treatment plans as necessary.
  • Provides medical care and preventive services, including nutritional guidance and child development education.
  • Documents patient encounters and care plans accurately in the electronic health record.
  • Adheres to evaluation and management (E&M) coding guidelines.
  • Collaborates with other healthcare professionals and agencies.
  • Serves on quality assurance committees.
  • Precepts clinical staff.
  • Takes a structured approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Maintains confidentiality and adheres to Ponca Tribe of Nebraska policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Level I: Active BSN license, MSN, 2 years RN experience, NP license, and NCSBN certification.
  • Level II: Active APRN license, 2+ years NP experience, independent NP designation, NCSBN certification, DEA license.
  • Level III: Active APRN license, 3+ years NP experience, independent NP designation, DNP, DEA license.

Qualifications

  • Level II: Active APRN license, 2+ years NP experience, independent NP designation, NCSBN certification, DEA license.
  • Level III: Active APRN license, 3+ years NP experience, independent NP designation, DNP, DEA license.

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records systems.
  • Knowledge of Public Law 93-638: Indian Self-Determination Education Assistance Act of 1975.
