What You'll Do
Provide comprehensive inpatient care in collaboration with the Hospital Medicine team
Complete patient evaluations, histories, physical examinations, and clinical assessments
Manage admissions, daily rounding, and discharges with a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency
Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans
Order and interpret diagnostic studies, laboratory testing, and medications within the scope of practice
Respond to changes in patients’ clinical conditions and coordinate escalation of care when appropriate
Collaborate with physicians, specialists, nursing, pharmacy, care management, rehabilitation services, and other members of the interdisciplinary team
Education patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
Support transitions of care and communication with outpatient providers
Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation
Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and hospital-based initiatives
Contribute to the continued growth and development of Hospital Medicine services
Demonstrate a strong commitment to Novant Health’s standards for patient-centered care
Qualifications
Master’s or doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Current national certification as a Nurse Practitioner
Current or eligible South Carolina Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license
Certification appropriate for the patient population and inpatient scope of practice
Current BLS certification
ACLS certification required or obtained within the designated onboarding period
Prescriptive authority and DEA registration as required for the position
Ability to meet Novant Health credentialing and medical staff requirements
