About the role

The Nurse Practitioner assesses, diagnoses, plans, and implements medical care for patients in collaboration with a physician. Operating within the full scope of licensure, this role is accountable for the assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care. The Nurse Practitioner delivers holistic, individualized care, develops interdisciplinary care plans, and fosters collaborative relationships with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare providers. This position adheres to hospital policies, industry standards, and applicable laws while promoting a high-quality patient experience. The role follows ambulatory care and inpatient standardized procedures, protocols, and policies regulated by the State of California Nurse Practice Act. This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus for new hires to Sutter Health.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, plan, and implement medical care for patients in collaboration with a physician.
• Coordinate and evaluate nursing care, including direct patient care, education, and transitions of care.
• Develop, implement, and manage interdisciplinary care plans incorporating psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors.
• Maintain collaborative relationships with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare providers through effective communication.
• Adhere to hospital policies, industry standards, best practices, and regulations to ensure a high-quality patient experience.
• Follow standardized procedures, protocols, and policies as regulated by the State of California Nurse Practice Act.
• Engage in continuous professional growth and development in advanced nursing practice.
• Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality of protected health information (PHI).
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and organizational goals.

Skills and Knowledge

• Demonstrated knowledge of advanced nursing theories, concepts, and practices, including medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Working knowledge of the healthcare industry, safety precautions, patient care best practices, privacy regulations, and local/state/federal compliance changes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical individuals.
• Basic proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook) and Electronic Health Records (EHR).
• Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks, work within standardized policies and procedures, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment with interruptions.
• Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Identify, evaluate, and resolve standard problems using established solutions.

Pay

Pay range is $160,037.28 to $224,040.96 per year. The compensation range may vary based on geographic location, candidate experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is one component of Sutter Health’s total rewards program.

Schedule

• Full-time position with a varied schedule.
• 36 hours per week.
• Variable days of the week, including rotating weekends.
