The Challenge

As a Nurse Practitioner, you have the opportunity to live our core values every day by helping our patients in all walks of life, providing high-quality care, working with an excellent team, being a trusted resource, and making an impact in the community through engagement and volunteer efforts. You will be responsible for providing primary care services, including assessing and managing patients in the clinic following established standards and practices.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all HIPAA and OSHA regulations and policies.
• Perform complete physical exams and obtain complete medical histories, recording findings.
• Order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures and interpret data to determine preliminary diagnoses and therapeutic plans.
• Administer medications and injections in compliance with state law and clinic guidelines.
• Suture minor lacerations.
• Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatments.
• Educate patients on health and illness prevention.
• Recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs.
• Collaborate with physicians to manage acute and long-term medical needs, providing monitoring and continuity of care between visits.
• Maintain and review patient records, charts, and other pertinent information.
• Post tests and examination results, and triage patient telephone calls, providing consultation.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.

Requirements

• MSN preferred.
• Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program.
• Minimum of three years of professional nursing experience in a clinic setting plus two years of Nurse Practitioner experience.
• Current State of Ohio CNP/APRN license.
• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, and regulations to evaluate and provide patient care.
• Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
• Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to maintain a safe work environment.
• Skill in applying nursing principles, methods, and techniques to provide ongoing patient care.
• Skill in taking medical histories and interpreting findings.
• Ability to navigate electronic medical records (EPIC experience preferred but not required).
• Ability to maintain quality control standards.
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
• Ability to communicate clearly and establish effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) License.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands
