About the role

AMG Specialty Hospital - Albuquerque is offering a $10,000 Sign-On Bonus for a Full-Time Nurse Practitioner for Thursday - Saturday shifts. This position provides routine care and management of patients with complex chronic and acutely ill conditions in collaboration with the supervising physician. The Practitioner focuses on treatment for patients' current medical diagnoses, promotion of wellness, and prevention of complications.

You will work in the heart of Albuquerque on the 3rd floor of Gibson Medical Center as part of the AMG Integrated Healthcare Management Hospital System, a Top-5 Post-Acute Care Hospital System.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient care management, consultation, admission, and accurate and timely history and physicals.
  • Develop and direct treatment plans, order and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests, and perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Prescribe medications, complete timely discharge summaries, and ensure appropriate discharge planning and placement.
  • Assess patients for changes in status and institute appropriate interventions, including necessary emergency interventions to stabilize the patient.
  • Promote evidence-based care guidelines including sedation management, thrombosis prophylaxis, central line management, ventilator management, and ventilator-associated event prevention.
  • Oversee the patient's length of stay and discharge goals.
  • Serve as a healthcare resource, leadership consultant, interdisciplinary consultant, case management consultant, and patient advocate.

Requirements

  • Maintain unencumbered, current New Mexico RN and ARNP licensure.
  • Complete annual education requirements.
  • Attend facility P&T, Quality MEC at the request of the CEO.
  • Adhere to dress code; appearance is neat and clean.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Report to work on time and as scheduled.
  • Wear identification while on duty.
  • Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times.
  • Comply with all organizational policies and standards regarding ethical business practices.
  • Communicate the Mission and Vision, and model Values of the organization.
  • Effectively and consistently communicate clinical and administrative directives to personnel.

Three to five years' experience in patient care services and/or management is desired but not required. The ability to demonstrate leadership ability and the application of sound administrative principles is essential.
