Job Summary

Diseases are diagnosed and managed, promoting health maintenance and disease prevention. Comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories, physical exams, and psychological/developmental evaluations, are performed. Diagnostic tests are ordered and interpreted, medications prescribed (including controlled substances when appropriate), and evidence-based treatment plans developed. Collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams ensures coordinated care, informed consent, and continuity of patient management. Patients and families are educated on diagnoses, medications, disease prevention, treatment plans, and healthy lifestyles using age-appropriate communication. Patient progress is monitored, accurate documentation maintained, crises handled, and timely follow-up care provided. Effective responses to emergencies, following protocols, clear communication, conflict resolution, and leadership skills are demonstrated. Cultural competence, strong communication, and mentoring of staff, students, and healthcare team members are exhibited. Participation in quality improvement initiatives, committee work, staff education, research, and educational program development enhances patient care.

Requirements

  • Basic Life Support
  • Current Maryland CRNP License
