About the Role
This position provides direct and indirect nursing care by applying advanced scientific knowledge, nursing theory, and skills to assess, plan, and deliver patient care. It involves evaluating physical and psychosocial health, diagnosing health issues, and overseeing care provided by the healthcare team.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient health status through comprehensive evaluations and diagnostic procedures.
- Diagnose health issues and develop care plans.
- Supervise and coordinate nursing, medical, and clerical staff.
- Implement and evaluate care; maintain detailed documentation.
- Educate patients and families on health maintenance and illness prevention.
- Participate in research, community programs, and policy initiatives.
- Contribute to healthcare system improvements and quality enhancement.
- Perform patient care as needed to maintain clinical expertise and support team functions.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in nursing in a relevant specialty.
- Active Nurse Practitioner license and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license (Hawaii).
- National Provider Identifier and Basic Life Support certification.
- Strong customer service, communication, conflict resolution, and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Nurse Practitioner experience in a specialty area.
- Proficiency with PC applications.
- Valid Hawaii APRN recognition with prescriptive authority.
