Nurse Practitioner
What You’ll Do
- Conduct comprehensive medical histories and physical exams, including admission assessments and see patient for acute medical issues.
- Manage detox protocols, monitor for medical withdrawal complications, and order appropriate lab work and diagnostic tests.
- Prescribe and manage medications related to withdrawal management and other medical conditions, in accordance with standing orders and protocols.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds to address medical issues related to substance use treatment.
- Document care using EMR systems in a timely, accurate manner.
- Collaborate with behavioral health staff on medical concerns only, while psychiatric care is managed by our psychiatry team.
Who Should Apply
- Holds active licensure in Massachusetts as an FNP or Adult-Gerontology NP (AGNP).
- Has a minimum of 2 years of medical experience, including performing histories, physicals, and managing common acute and chronic conditions.
- Ideally has experience in detox, addiction medicine, or inpatient medical care.
- PMHNPs should not apply unless dual-certified and trained in medical practice.
- Demonstrates strong clinical decision-making, autonomy, and documentation skills.
