Position Overview
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides comprehensive, patient-centered primary care services in collaboration with a supervising physician. This role is ideal for a dedicated and compassionate professional who enjoys working as part of an integrated care team to deliver high-quality, evidence-based healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical care to patients in a clinic or health center setting under the direction of a supervising physician.
- Conduct thorough patient interviews and complete medical histories related to the visit or presenting concern.
- Perform physical examinations and document findings accurately.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests such as labs, x-rays, and EKGs.
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment and management plans.
- Prescribe or recommend medications and therapeutic procedures as appropriate within scope of practice.
- Perform minor procedures such as suturing, injections, and wound care.
- Provide patient education on health maintenance, family planning, and chronic disease management.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, behavioral health providers, and other members of the care team.
- Refer patients for specialty or advanced care when indicated.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in Epic (OCHIN).
- Participate in quality improvement activities, staff meetings, and ongoing professional education.
- Ensure compliance with all organizational, regulatory, and ethical standards.
Qualifications
- Master of Science in Nursing with Nurse Practitioner focus required.
- Current and valid State Licensure and National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Current DEA license (or eligibility).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Prior experience with Epic EMR preferred.
- Experience in primary care or ambulatory care strongly preferred.
- Bi-lingual (Spanish) is preferred.
