Overview
The Nephrology Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides advanced practice medical care to patients with acute and chronic kidney disease across dialysis, outpatient clinic, and inpatient hospital settings. The NP functions as a licensed independent provider, delivering comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and disease management, either independently or in collaboration with a supervising or consulting nephrologist, in accordance with state scope-of-practice regulations.
Success Profile
The Nephrology Nurse Practitioner (NP) is accountable for clinical decision-making, longitudinal disease management, and care coordination to optimize patient outcomes, quality, and safety. They must demonstrate strong clinical judgment, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills, and have a minimum of 1-3 years of Nurse Practitioner experience, with nephrology experience strongly preferred.
