About the role

The position provides health and medical care for populations across the health continuum. It serves as a liaison to the CON units and functions and leads in teaching future health care professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Apply scientific process and national nursing and healthcare standards of care to manage evidence-based patient and family-centered care.
  • Communicate and collaborate as a primary care provider for the patient and family and as a leader and/or member of inter-professional teams with other healthcare specialists, insurers, employers, and governmental agency officials.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records in the electronic health record.
  • Maintain quality and ethical competencies for independent advanced practice.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) program.
  • Certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body.
  • Active and unrestricted licensure to practice nursing from the Georgia Board of Nursing and via protocol with the Georgia Composite Medical Board.
  • Maintain status as a certified NP, including completion of all requirements for continuing nursing and medical education or recertification.
  • Possess a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS/BCLS certification.
  • Possess a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider ACLS certification or obtain within first year of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctorate of Nursing Practice from an accredited college or university.
  • Three years of experience as a nurse practitioner.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines despite frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to keep accurate records and make independent decisions.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days; M-F (Work outside of the standard business hours may be required)
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
