About the Role
The Nurse Operations Manager performs a variety of administrative and nursing duties in supervising and caring for patients—from minor treatment to acutely ill—in a unique, free-standing outpatient facility. This role supports a hyper-efficient delivery of Emergency Medicine Specialty Services combined with outpatient facilities, aiming to provide high-quality care, reduce ER visits, lower hospital admissions, and create savings.
Responsibilities
- Build relationships with patients and employees to foster a culture of passion and enthusiasm.
- Conduct meaningful growth meetings with RNs and PCCs on a routine basis.
- Identify areas of improvement to meet or exceed organizational quality metric goals.
- Adhere to and promote all protocols.
- Oversee and coordinate maintenance of all clinical equipment.
- Complete checklists and assigned tasks by deadlines.
- Generate a fair clinical staff schedule, ensuring all shifts are covered and time-off requests are considered.
- Coordinate and oversee the training of the clinical team, including providers, lab team, and radiology techs.
- Represent the organization professionally during clinical surveys (DOH, COLA, AHCA, JC, etc.).
- Participate in QA/PI activities, including hand washing audits, chart audits, room turnover audits, and other audits as required.
- Maintain quality standards by updating protocols, recommending best practices, and addressing unsafe practices.
- Ensure smooth workflow in the clinical area, addressing challenges as they arise.
- Oversee the inventory process, including ordering, managing back orders, and submitting inventory updates.
- Collaborate with the Facility Leader on Employee Health initiatives, such as TB testing, Hepatitis B immunizations, and flu vaccine administration.
- Manage the linen ordering process.
- Oversee the ordering and proper disposal/return of medications in accordance with DEA regulations.
- Provide continuous education and training on new or updated processes/equipment.
- Actively participate in the hiring, termination, and departmental meetings for the clinical team.
- Serve as a resource for staff and support the Facility Leader in their absence.
- Follow information security policies and contribute to their effectiveness.
- Perform all responsibilities of the Registered Nurse position.
