About the role

The Nurse Navigator oversees the clinical aspects of an active Breast Center and supports the broader Program in Women's Oncology. This role coordinates health education for patients, collaborates with the Sr. Division Manager on daily clinical activities for the Breast Health Center, supervises Care Coordinators, and assists in medical research for particular studies. Reports as part of the CNE Cancer Institute (CNECI).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency, individually and as part of the multidisciplinary team, in performing clinical care and assessment of all patient populations.
• Provides and manages quality patient care.
• Demonstrates leadership in the coordination of the Breast Health Center (BHC) outpatient services.
• Supervises Care Coordinators as necessary.
• Coordinates health education for patients.
• Collaborates with the Sr. Division Manager on daily clinical activities for the Breast Center.
• Assists in the research of medical aspects of particular studies.
• Performs other related duties as requested or directed.
• Preserves and protects patient rights to confidentiality.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with 3 to 5 years of nursing experience.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Must have and maintain CPR certification.
• Oncology Nursing Society certification preferred and/or obtained within two years of hire.
• Nursing Navigation Certification preferred and/or obtained within two years of hire.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Rhode Island.
• Proficiency in the English language.
