About the role
Extends the healing ministry of Christ by extending care and support to patients and care providers. Oversees the development and ongoing editing of unit-specific forms and patient education materials. Monitors surgical outcomes and patient satisfaction, identifies areas for improvement, and reports key results.
Responsibilities
- Oversees the development and ongoing editing of unit-specific forms and patient education materials
- Promotes knowledge of oncology and its effects for patients, support partners, and care providers
- Maintains knowledge of surgical outcomes and patient satisfaction
- Develops and oversees pre and post-op teaching classes
- Tracks and documents data for National Consortium of Breast Centers Quality Program and National Accreditation Program for Breast Center accreditation
- Informs and educates patients about their breast imaging results and post-biopsy home care
- Provides education, support, and assistance to patients diagnosed with breast cancer
- Develops standardized care plans with surgeons, including pre-op, post-op, and discharge orders
- Ensures appropriate pre-op preparation for every patient
- Communicates and collaborates with mammography techs, radiology staff, and physicians to provide excellent care
- Notifies patients that need to return for further imaging and schedules their appointments
- Participates in regularly scheduled meetings with hospital administrators, the Center medical director, other physicians, and key staff
- Buils out and oversees the day-to-day operations of the breast health and digestive health programs within the center

Qualifications
- Bachelor's of Nursing
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS)
