About the role

Our rehabilitation programs provide ongoing care and specialized treatment to patients throughout their recovery journey. We offer customized, individualized rehabilitation tailored to the specific needs of those recovering from a stroke, brain injury, neurological conditions, trauma, spinal cord injury, amputation, and orthopedic injury. Eastern Iowa Rehabilitation Hospital strives to maximize the health, function, and quality of life of those we serve through comprehensive physical medicine and rehabilitation programs.

The Nurse Manager functions under the direction and supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer and assumes responsibility for the Nursing Department. The Nurse Manager, in collaboration with the CNO and leadership team, assists to implement, interpret, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures including regulatory and accreditation standards. The Nurse Manager directly supervises the Clinical Supervisors, Charge Nurses, RNs, LPN/LVNs, CNAs/NAs, and Unit Secretaries. The Nurse Manager is responsible for implementing hospital goals and objectives based on budget parameters and reinforces the mission and vision of the hospital in all interactions.

Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for the Nursing Department under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer.
• Collaborate with the CNO and leadership team to implement, interpret, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures, including regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Directly supervise Clinical Supervisors, Charge Nurses, RNs, LPN/LVNs, CNAs/NAs, and Unit Secretaries.
• Implement hospital goals and objectives based on budget parameters.
• Reinforce the mission and vision of the hospital in all interactions.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing, or Nursing Diploma program. BSN preferred.
• Active Iowa RN license (single-state or compact) required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
• CPR/BCLS certification. ACLS preferred.
• CRRN Certification preferred.
• Minimum of two years of previous nursing leadership experience preferred.
• Minimum of two years of previous rehab nursing experience preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrates strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
