Tower Behavioral Health (TBH) is seeking a passionate Registered Nurse Manager (RN) to join our nursing team at our state-of-the-art Psych-Safe facility in Reading, PA. Located on a serene, partially wooded parcel on the west side of Route 183, TBH provides services to adults, adolescents, and seniors through inpatient and outpatient programs, counseling, treatment for substance use disorders, and other services.

About the Role

Assists the DON/CNO with directing, planning, coordinating, monitoring, and supervising the effective and efficient use of nursing operations for assigned units. Oversees the delivery of behavioral health/nursing services with a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude. Collaborates with interdisciplinary treatment teams, other departments, and administration to ensure all residents’ physical, biopsychosocial, age, developmental, and cultural needs are met. Provides leadership to assure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as nursing practice standards, with patient safety as a top priority.

Responsibilities

  • Role models expectations related to customer service and demonstrates a sense of urgency regarding patient safety.
  • Accountable for the standard of care at the facility, providing consultations and expertise in patient care delivery.
  • Serves as a clinical and service resource to nursing staff and other staff as assigned.
  • Manages the activities of staff, coordinating safe and appropriate care between departments and disciplines.
  • Manages and evaluates work activities of nursing, technical, clerical, service, or maintenance staff for the unit and other facility staff as directed.
  • Analyzes information/situations to choose the best solutions to solve problems.
  • Responsible for recruitment, hiring, and training of new staff.
  • Identifies the educational needs of others and develops educational or training programs.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of organizational policies and procedures for the facility.
  • Prepares reports to inform management of the status and implementation of programs, services, and quality initiatives.
  • Performs administrative or managerial functions such as planning budgets and authorizing expenditures.
  • Provides direct care as needed.
  • Performs other functions and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • BSN or higher strongly preferred.
  • Current registered nursing license in the State of facility required.
  • Three years as a registered nurse strongly preferred; two years required.
  • Two years of prior experience with the patient population of the facility is preferred; one year required.
  • Prior experience as a house supervisor strongly preferred.
  • One year of charge RN or other administrative experience required.
  • CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
  • First aid may be required based on state or facility.
