About the role
As the Nurse Manager for the Pediatric Infusion and Specialty Clinics at UVA Health Children's Hospital, you will provide both clinical and operational leadership for one or more pediatric outpatient practices. Your role involves shaping an exceptional experience for children and their families while supporting a dedicated team of healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and inspire a multidisciplinary team of clinical and administrative professionals, fostering a collaborative culture where team members feel supported, engaged, and empowered to grow.
- Oversee the daily operations of one or more ambulatory clinics, ensuring exceptional patient care, operational efficiency, and a seamless experience for children and their families.
- Recruit, onboard, mentor, and develop staff while supporting professional growth, performance management, and team member recognition and retention.
- Partner with physicians, Patient Access leadership, and operational leaders to optimize patient access, provider scheduling, staffing models, clinic productivity, and patient flow.
- Manage departmental budgets, monitor financial performance and productivity, explain variances, and participate in capital planning to support long-term operational success.
- Champion quality improvement initiatives by evaluating key performance indicators, improving patient outcomes, enhancing the patient and family experience, and responding proactively to performance data.
- Promote evidence-based practice, patient safety, regulatory readiness, and ethical nursing practice while fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
- Lead change initiatives and leverage technology and data to improve clinical workflows, support strategic planning, and advance UVA Health's ambulatory operations.
- Build strong interdisciplinary partnerships through collaboration, communication, shared decision-making, and a commitment to culturally responsive care.
- Maintain clinical competency and provide direct patient care as needed.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited nursing program, Master's degree in related field within 5 years of hire.
- Experience: 3 years of progressively more responsible experience as a registered nurse in a patient care environment required.
- Licensure: License to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia required.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
- Valid Virginia Driver’s license required for managers with responsibility operations in multiple locations.
- Must have applicable specialty certification at hire or within 3 years.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of progressively more responsible experience as a registered nurse in a patient care environment.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
- Master's degree in related field within 5 years of hire.

Pay
The pay range for this role is $104,062.40 - $138,819.20 annually.
Schedule
This is a full-time position with flexible working hours to accommodate the needs of the clinic and patients.
