Nurse Manager - OB/GYN
About the role
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Weill Cornell Medicine provides care at several practice locations throughout NYC. Our multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers is dedicated to meeting the unique and changing health needs of women, by helping them to maintain and improve their health through state-of-the-art obstetrical and gynecological care. We are currently seeking a Nurse Manager, under guidance of departmental leadership, to oversee the clinical functions and patient care within the department.
Responsibilities
- Develops, updates, implements and evaluates a comprehensive plan of care based on the individual patient needs.
- Evaluates status of patients in emergency situations to determine and obtain appropriate care, administers various medications, shots, and lab tests.
- Schedules tests and procedures for patients.
- Educates patients and family regarding treatment and therapies.
- Records diagnosis, treatment plans, progress notes and doctors' orders in patient charts.
- Develops short- and long-term development and operational goals.
- Maintains current knowledge of quality and safety standards for an outpatient physician practice setting.
- Develops reports and metrics to identify gaps in care. Recommends corrective action plans.
- Maintains inventory of supplies, equipment and/or reagents.
- May assist with cost control.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures related to billing and compliance and audit processes.
- Trips and communicates test results.
- Provides in-office, patient care services.
Requirements
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Ability to delegate work effectively and hold others accountable for deliverables.
- NYS Registered Professional Nurse license.
- Current Registered Nurse registration.
- Infection Control Certificate.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing.
- Approximately 5 years of related clinical experience.
Skills
- Knowledge of quality and safety standards for an outpatient physician practice setting.
- Ability to triage patient inquiries and communicate test results.
- Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures related to billing and compliance and audit processes.

Pay
$130,100.00 - $149,500.00
